As a child, I spent a ton of time in the woods on my grandparents 88 acres of land in upstate New York. My brother, sister and I would swing through the gully on vines, look for salamanders under the rocks, watch the frogs leap in the knee-deep pond, take hay rides in the fall, snow mobile in the winter, and help our grandpa in the garden in the spring. Any time I find myself in the woods, I am taken back to this wonderful time in my life. I love the way twigs snap and leaves crumble as you meander through. I love the sound of the wind as it moves through the echos of animal-filled yet quiet forests. There is such peace when you’re in and among the trees.
