In the Clouds

I was on my way out to visit family on Longboat Key one late afternoon. On my way, I looked up and saw this beautiful sky with exceptionally white, fluffy clouds and then the sun’s beams started shining through. It was one of those rare photo opps that you have to pull over no matter what, quickly grab your camera and you just keep shooting thinking that the next shot is going to be even better than the one prior. Love these beautiful moments in life especially when you HAVE your camera! If you look closely, you can see a bird in the upper left enjoying just flying around and in the clouds.

Sunday’s weather on the Gulf of Mexico was a typical summer day. It started off sunny and gorgeous and of course out of nowhere, turned dark and stormy. This was the scary kind with frequent and too close for comfort lightning. As you can imagine, this type of sudden, severe weather ended our beach day. As we and the other beach goers packed up our day quarters, we saw this boy chasing his inner tube down the beach that the strong wind grasped in its path. It just rolled and tossed itself down the beach with the poor boy trying to catch it with his child-sized hands.
