It was a Sun-fun-day with family home from their first year of college and their friends over. We were paddle boarding, surfing, walking the beach, collecting shells, playing baseball and cooking out. Summer is in full swing and is oh so colorful except for our black and white paddleboard paddles!
You can hear the soft waves coming to shore. You can feel the gentle breeze kiss your cheeks and sway the sea oats side to side.
Sunday’s weather on the Gulf of Mexico was a typical summer day. It started off sunny and gorgeous and of course out of nowhere, turned dark and stormy. This was the scary kind with frequent and too close for comfort lightning. As you can imagine, this type of sudden, severe weather ended our beach day. As we and the other beach goers packed up our day quarters, we saw this boy chasing his inner tube down the beach that the strong wind grasped in its path. It just rolled and tossed itself down the beach with the poor boy trying to catch it with his child-sized hands.
