As we flew into Boston Logan Airport, I spotted the Queen Mary 2 (QM2) at port. Designed by a team of British naval architects in 2003, she is the largest ocean liner ever built to date.
Annually every January, she departs on an 89 to 132 night world voyage. A bucket list for sure. (Why does my bucket list seem to be getting longer instead of shorter. I swear, I’m working on it!!)
Some of Queen Mary 2‘s facilities include fifteen restaurants and bars, five swimming pools, a casino, a ballroom, a theatre, and the first full-scale planetarium at sea where one can view the stars in galaxies far far away. Out of this world isn’t it? 😉
OMG – how amazing would that be to see the stars and have no light pollution!
When she was new, we took a short cruise on her to St. Thomas. We didn’t care where she was going. We just wanted to be aboard. Did it up right in the Queen’s Grill!
Did you by chance happen to meet author Randy Wayne White while on your voyage? I remember him telling me he was on one of her first trips…
I really like this capture, well done!!
Thank you very much ~ glad you enjoyed it!!
I didn’t know that it had a planetarium on board. Wow. I saw this ship in Sydney.
